Heather Angel is a wildlife photographer who shoots animals and landscape in various countries showing the contrast between the beauty in each area. Im focusing on the landscape photographs that she has taken and am looking at the beauty that is portrayed in each photo. I believe that Angel has a very good range of photographs that show beauty, also they depict beauty in a way that I feel most people would not instantly think of as she doesn't focus on people. Colours and silhouette play a big part in her photos and I think it helps to highlight the beauty.
This image shows beauty in the Chinese landscape. The yellow that is highlighted from the sun gives the photo a sense of warmth and also creates a silhouette style to the hills and bushes. This photo also creates depth because the further back the silhouetted mountains get the lighter the silhouette becomes. I really like this image and think that Angel has captured a rather nice setting. I feel that even though the colours are set quite simplistic that the photo is still interesting.
I love this photo, all of the colours are natural and relate to the setting. Another thing that I love about this photograph is that you get the reflection of the living trees at the top of the image that are looking down at the dead tree stumps in the water. The clarity of the water is so defined that it is not necessarily noticeable. I think that this photo will get a wide range of people connecting the word beautiful to it.
This photo is my favourite out of all four, the reason I love this image is because the change in shades of grey and black makes me feel that the location had emotions and a moody atmosphere. The simplicity of this photo highlights the beauty of the mountains and time of day that she had been photographing in. I feel that the shot has captures the setting very neatly which is pleasing, I like how the mountains not only fade the further back they get but also that they seem to slightly move lower the further back they get however staying at a straight level.
Personally, this is my least favourite photo out of all of the ones above even thought shows beauty because theres nothing really for me to focus on and the image is all very flat. I do however feel that the small amount of flowers that are pushed into the image, mainly at the closest part, give a delicately light amount of beauty.
Influence-
If I was to shoot landscape in any of my personal shoots I would love to have Angels influences into my photography. I would like to capture the unique exotic feel that she manages to show in her photographs. She also shoots he photos at different times of the day which give each image a different feel to the other and shows the contrast of setting that she is photographing. I would also like to show this if I were to photographs landscape.
Summery-
Overall, I really like Heather Angels photography and feel that she show beauty very clearly as they please the sight and create a breathtaking view for the audience. I love how she has used different techniques in her images and feel that each image is interesting in their own way.
