Personal shoot 4- work diary

Studio set up-
I wanted this shoot to be quite light, therefore I used a white background and two light boxes either side of the model who was sat in the centre. The two lights created no shadows and the white background would make all of the photographs brighter.

Camera set up-
I set the camera to F9, ISO 200 and the exposure at 1/125. This allowed the light to enter the lens to that there were none to minimum shadows, which is exactly what I wanted for this shoot.

Photoshop-
Like normal I firstly started by changing the Levels and curves on the image to lift the colours and create a lighter setting. After this I then used the spot healing brush tool to cover up any spots of blemishes on the models face and neck. I then used created a copy layer as I will be turning one of then into black and white and influencing the colour in from the bottom layer. To turn the top layer black and white I selected the vibrance button and turned both vibrance and saturation to -100.

For each of the images that I have photoshopped I selected different areas to insert colour. To select the area I used the quick selection tool, this enabled me to precisely select the specific area I wanted. After this I then used the paintbrush tool to change the colour of the selected area, to make sure the edges were not too sharp I smoothed, blurred and feathered the edges.

  1. can we discuss how we get you to comment on the connotations/denotations of your images and how they relate to the main theme beauty... (context) as you will need to add these comments somewhere.. you will also need to do some connecting images posts...
