Personal shoot 5- work diary

Studio set up-
For this shoot I wanted it to feel like the darkness was starting to overtake the model, this was to create the idea that obsession with having physical beauty can overtake you. The black background was to help create the darkness and I also used a snoot of the light so that it was focused on a specific place. The one snoot light was placed directly in front of the model so the light would only highlight the face and allow shadows around the rest of the face.

Camera set up-
The camera lens that I used was an OLYMPUS M.40-150mm. I set the ISO at 200 and the F at 16. The exposure during this shoot was set at 1/125 secs.

Photoshop-
In this shoot I really went in depth to try and highlight the beauty theme, to do this I selected to surface blur the whole image. Once I had done this I covered any spots or blemishes using the spot healing brush.

To create more of a contrast between the light and dark aspects of the image I edited her skin and made it a little pinker. I feel like in beauty photography the eyes are made to stand out, to do this I added extra eyeliner on her eyes and inserted some extra eyelashes. I feel like this really helped to make her eyes stand out.
