I used multiple flash in this shoot in hopes to capture an insight on what, I think, an obsession with obtaining beauty can result to for some people. The model in this shoot was moving about pulling her hair and screaming, I directed her to act in this way because I wanted to link in the results that beauty can leave on people and how it can make people feel. I edited the image with a low saturation so empathise with the crazed and unhappy feel that I wanted the images to portray. I used a model that is typically beautiful, however didn't make this the main focus for the photographs. The part of the photo where she's bending down is less transparent compared to her standing, however I feel that the eye is most drawn to the facial area of the more transparent section, this is something that I rather like about this photos.
The are some similarities between these photos, for example the first thing I notice about the first image is that the model is captured more than once, which can also be seen in my photograph. This however is produced in different ways, in the first photo it looks like two photos have been overlaid whereas in my photo I had used multiple flash to capture the models appearance more than once. Another similarity between the images is that the presence of colour is minimal to none in both, Enlow had used a white background and then edited the image into black and white so that there is no colour involved what so ever. To contrast this in my photo shoot I used a blue background and then decided to edit the photo so that the saturation is so low that the colour can barely be seen, this also resulted in the model looking like she was in black and white.
A strong difference between the photographs is the fact that the model in Enlows photo is posing in typical beauty shoot ways and is also wearing makeup which is also linked to beauty photography. In my photo I had the model act in a crazy manner to portray how beauty can make people feel and the bad results of obsessing over becoming what society deems as beautiful.
